Thing # 4

I think this class is alot of fun. I have not had any experience with blogs before. I really was not sure what a blog was.It has been lots of fun to create one and to read some other blogs that people have written. It has shown me alot.

I have chosen five blogs to read:

Why Didn't I assign homework
I think this has some good point. I can relate to some of the things that he talks about. The one that grabbed my attention the most was the point that most of the lower income families seem to not have much support at home the way middle and upper class families do. They will not make sure that it is done and may not care if it is or isn't done.

Spies like us
I learned a lot from this one. I think it is interesting how many devices that are currently out that have so much technology to their use. These bring technology to a whole new level. It is scary.

A Duck With A Blog
This is really a cute blog. A second grade class has done a blog. They are trying to find their duck. I think they are reading a book. It is a good idea to be able to use technology like that.

PowerPoint Reform: A First Chapter
I like the idea of not having bullets and numbering in power point presentations they are boring. Clip art and Word Art enhances these and makes them so much better.

Patrick's Update: 5th grade
I think this is really neat. This young boy has set an awesome goal to pass 5th grade. A lot of our 5th graders would benefit by setting these kind of goals. This is great even if it is to prove his brother wrong.

Thing #2

Technology is great. It makes learning alot of fun. However the concept of technology can be scarry. I have taken alot of technology classes. I think they are alot of fun. This is all so new to me. I think it is great to watch a child's face light up the first time he gets to get on a computer.

I like the story that we read on Thing #2 about the teachers creating students assignments on a blog. That to me is something that I wished I would've had growing up. It is really neat that the students could post their work to a blog so that their friends can see it and make comments. It is nice to be able to make comments. I love the fact that our students have the advantage of learning by all of this new technology. Our life is so full of new technology and new ways to learn. I am very excited.
